Basketball Recap: Northpoint Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against UR Academy

On Monday, the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks strolled past the UR Academy Lions with points to spare, taking the game 62-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the NightHawks.

NorthPoint Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Chelan Chudgar, who posted 36 points. Chudgar is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Gabe Spann was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Despite the loss, UR Academy still got an impressive performance from Jordan Miller, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Thompson, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 16 points and four steals.

NorthPoint Christian Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for UR Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

After both having extra time off, NorthPoint Christian Academy and The Fletcher School will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. NorthPoint Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season. As for UR Academy, they will welcome Lake Pointe Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (UR Academy has won three straight at home, while Lake Pointe Academy won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
