Everything went their way against the Columbia Crimson Tide on Thursday as they made off with a 31-1 win. Winning may never get old, but the Braves sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Destinee Walton made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Octorara Area got a massive performance out of Hailey Tidd, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances. Those four runs gave Tidd a new career-high. Aubry Wegman also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Octorara Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .809. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
