The Green Hope Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. The match between Green Hope and Holly Springs wasn't particularly close, with Green Hope falling 66-49. Green Hope has not had much luck with Holly Springs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rafik Khismatov, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Khismatov's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Cuffe, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Green Hope's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Holly Springs, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Green Hope will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sanderson at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Holly Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Leesville Road at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Leesville Road will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Holly Springs is ranked 117th).
