Softball Recap: Bangs Wins Going Away Against Coleman

Bangs won the last time they faced Coleman and things went their way on Friday too. Bangs blew past Coleman 19-1. Considering the Dragons have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Abby Wolf was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Bangs let Justice Baker and Neeley Bradley run wild. Baker scored four runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3, while Bradley scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Bradley has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Julianna Etheridge, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Bangs and bumps their season record up to 14-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Coleman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bangs will head out to take on De Leon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Coleman, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westbrook at 4:30 p.m. on April 15.
