The Northmor Golden Knights gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They strolled past Elgin with points to spare, taking the game 69-51. For Northmor, this counts as revenge for the 58-51 defeat Elgin walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Grant Bentley was on fire: he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Keirns, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds.
Northmor's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Elgin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Northmor won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Colonel Crawford at 7:30 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Elgin, they will head out on the road to face off against Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Pleasant focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday.
