Dunnellon will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Andrew Jackson at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Dunnellon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 34-20 victory over Pensacola. Dunnellon pushed the score to 27-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Pensacola cut but never quite recovered from.

Tony Tanner was his usual excellent self, rushing for 129 yards and three touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Dunnellon's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 3-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). Dylan Curry was another key player, rushing for 48 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dunnellon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 214 rushing yards. They are 3-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Dunnellon's defense stepped up as well, laying out Jamarcuz Fountain three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Frederick Mathis, Kaiden Robinson-Vickers, and Randy Jackson Jr, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Andrew Jackson made easy work of Weeki Wachee on Thursday and carried off a 44-19 win. Considering the Tigers' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Antonio Queen and Jeremiah Hampton. Queen rushed for 83 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries while Hampton rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. Those 102 rushing yards gave Hampton a new career-high.
Andrew Jackson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Marshaun Parker and Camden Long. Parker has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last three times he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Dunnellon's record now sits at 5-6. As for Andrew Jackson, their record is now an identical 5-6.
Thursday's game might be decided on the ground. Dunnellon has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 150.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Andrew Jackson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 158.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
