The power rankings have been shaken up after a frantic week teeming with triumph and disappointment. Among the action were the efforts of Peddie's senior Maurice Bellan, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Peddie got a 51 - 7 win over Wyoming Seminary College Prep last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Maurice Bellan. Bellan tossed the ball for 404 yards and six TDs. That performance made Bellan one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Movin on Up
Penns Grove gave both Paulsboro and its quarterback (sacked four times) a rough time last week. Penns Grove took its game by a score of 19 - 6. It had two big standouts, as junior Kavon Lewis threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns, while sophomore Nasir Robinson rushed for 72 yards and scored on one reception. The success catapulted Penns Grove 14 spots up the power rankings, enough to make it the biggest riser of the week.
No Stoppin 'Em
86. That was the combined point total for La Salle College and Haverford School when they went head to head last week, and it set the benchmark for all power ranking teams. La Salle College breezed past Haverford School with a final score of 58 - 28. La Salle College saw its record improve to 1-3 and its power rank jump 12 places as a result.
Game of Inches
The title of the most exciting match of the week goes to the clash between West Catholic and Archbishop Carroll. West Catholic dodged a bullet, finishing off Archbishop Carroll 36 - 35. The win boosted West Catholic a satisfying five spots in the power rankings.
