Basketball Game Preview: Christ the King Crusaders vs. Corvian Community Cardinals

Christ the King is 3-0 against Corvian Community since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Christ the King Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Corvian Community Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Corvian Community took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Christ the King, who comes in off a win.

Christ the King is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Bradford Prep: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Christ the King blew Bradford Prep out of the water with a 59-15 final score. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 30 points or more this season.

Christ the King's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rosie Gorman, who posted 16 points and five rebounds. Gorman has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Audrey Gorman was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, Corvian Community had to suffer through a 56-13 loss at the hands of Community School of Davidson. The Cardinals have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

The win made it two in a row for Christ the King and bumps their season record up to 8-2. As for Corvian Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Everything came up roses for Christ the King against Corvian Community in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 52-23 victory. Will Christ the King repeat their success, or does Corvian Community have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
