East Bernard is 0-10 against Hitchcock since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The East Bernard Brahmas will head out on the road to square off against the Hitchcock Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
East Bernard posted their biggest win since December 12, 2023 on Friday. Everything went their way against Hempstead as East Bernard made off with a 59-36 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory East Bernard has posted against Hempstead since January 6, 2021.
East Bernard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddox Crist, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Domel, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Hitchcock entered their tilt with Boling with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Hitchcock breezed by Boling on the road to the tune of 87-46. Given Hitchcock's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Boling is ranked 1125th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
East Bernard pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Hitchcock, their victory bumped their record up to 21-3.
East Bernard took a serious blow against Hitchcock in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 84-18. Can East Bernard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
