Baseball Recap: Maiden Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Maiden, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Bunker Hill Bears on Tuesday by a score of 8-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Kam Fulbright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Zane Williams was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Lackey, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The win got Maiden back to even at 5-5. As for Bunker Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Maiden didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-2 loss against St. Stephens on the 20th. As for Bunker Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-2 defeat against Newton-Conover on the 21st.
