The Amite County Trojans lost against the Loyd Star Hornets last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Amite County was the victim of a tough 67-43 loss at the hands of Loyd Star. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Amite County in their matchups with Loyd Star: they've now lost six in a row.
Nathan Mills was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with five assists and five steals for Loyd Star. Mills hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Colby Terrell, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Amite County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Loyd Star, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-5.
Amite County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Loyd Star, they will head out on the road to take on Bogue Chitto at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Loyd Star is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
