Grand Junction is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will challenge the Durango Demons at 3:00 p.m. Grand Junction will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Grand Junction had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Rifle on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Tigers have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kody Knott spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Grand Junction got a massive performance out of Andrew Henderson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Henderson a new career-high. Sean Witt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Grand Junction kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive games.
Durango couldn't beat Falcon on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Demons came up short against the Falcons, falling 16-6. The Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Durango saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Hoerl, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Cooper Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Durango's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Grand Junction, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Durango's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Grand Junction has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Durango, though, as they've been averaging 10 hits. Given Grand Junction's sizable advantage in that area, the Demons will need to find a way to close that gap.
Grand Junction skirted past Durango 17-15 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Demons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
