4A/3A Conference 2 recap September 24, 2013
Watauga extended the longest winning streak in 4A/3A Conference 2 this week by beating Wilkes Central, 42-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Pioneers.
Watauga took down the Eagles 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Freedom's Titus Smith and Khris Gardin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 484 yards this season, while Gardin, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 19 catches for 299 yards. Jahiz Linebarger from Hickory leads the league in rushing with 360 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Hibriten takes on South Caldwell. At the moment, the Panthers are in third, while the Spartans are in fifth.
Ryan Habich's team led 4A/3A Conference 2 in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Wilkes Central.
