It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Daingerfield Tigers had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They breezed by New Waverly on the road to the tune of 48-0. Considering Daingerfield has won seven contests by more than 20 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Chase Johnson looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 222 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Ashton Williams was another key contributor, rushing for 129 yards on only 11 carries.
Daingerfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for New Waverly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Daingerfield will face off against Hooks at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Hooks is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. New Waverly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
