The Lake Stevens Vikings will challenge the Arlington Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Stevens is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Lake Stevens is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Jackson just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timberwolves. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Vikings, who until this matchup were averaging 3.33 runs allowed.
Lake Stevens got a good showing from Cade Landes, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. That's the first time Landes hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March.
On the hitting side, Ayden Hale stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cayden DeElena, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Arlington came out on top against Cascade on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 14-run second inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Bruins. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Daniel Delcoure and Aiden Jones were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Delcoure tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Jones pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Delcoure has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Delcoure got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI, while Jones got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Arlington is undefeated when Jones posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Xander Carroll, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Reidar Gudgeon, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Lake Stevens' defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Arlington, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Lake Stevens got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Arlington by a conclusive 13-4 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
