Fossil Ridge's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Nutting, who scored 19 points along with 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Nutting has scored at least 25% of Fossil Ridge's points. Sean Purvis was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals.
Despite the loss, George Washington saw an underclassman step up: Tre Bourne scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Trimm, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
Fossil Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for George Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Fossil Ridge will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Windsor at 12:30 p.m. Hopefully Windsor focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Wednesday. As for George Washington, they will head out on the road to face off against Northfield at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
