The Yorktown Tigers pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 64-57 to Pendleton Heights. Yorktown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Arabians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Yorktown's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nate Tyler, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, and Kieran Tewari who scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that Tyler scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jabin Barnes, who scored seven points.
It was another big night for Josiah Gustin, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds for Pendleton Heights. Seth Laravia was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Yorktown's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Pendleton Heights, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Yorktown will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Pendleton Heights will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Muncie Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
