Sutton Centoni was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Centoni was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Kaitlyn Atkinson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Addison Forsythe, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Dunlap always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boone Grove only posted an OBP of .167.
While McNairy Central didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Rossview on Saturday.
Like Dunlap, McNairy Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Carlee Shelton. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, Shelton posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

However, it's not like McNairy Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .405. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
