The team relied heavily on Harrison Trunkey-Evans, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Dylan Suitch, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Coeur d'Alene hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeland struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Moscow didn't have quite enough to beat Borah on Saturday and fell 13-12. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by just one run.

On the hitting side, Tyson Izzo and Connor Isakson did some serious damage despite the final result: Izzo went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Isakson scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Isakson also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Gunnar Holloway was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
This is the second loss in a row for Moscow and nudges their season record down to 3-2. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Coeur d'Alene, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Moscow's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Coeur d'Alene hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .418. It's a different story for Moscow, though, as they've only averaged .239. Will they be able to contain Coeur d'Alene's hitters?
