This season hasn't been kind to the Macon Tigers, who are still winless after their fourth match. They were the victim of a tough 63-40 loss at the hands of Van-Far on Saturday. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Macon struggled afterwards.
Van-Far's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Jennings, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Jennings scored 15 or more points. Nikos Connaway was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Macon has fallen quite a ways from their 22-5 record last season and are now at 0-4. As for Van-Far, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Macon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mark Twain at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Van-Far, they will head out on the road to face off against Elsberry at 7:30 p.m. on January 8th.
