Twin Falls is a perfect 10-0 against Jerome since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bruins will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 3:00 p.m. Twin Falls will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Twin Falls barely beat Minico the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Spartans on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Dalton Carter, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last eight games. Hoyt Murray also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Twin Falls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Minico only posted an OBP of .375.
Meanwhile, Jerome had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Shelley by a score of 5-1 on Tuesday.
Julian Orozco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on nine hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Noah Ramsey and Brett Harrison did most of the damage at the plate: Ramsey went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI, while Harrison got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Twin Falls' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Jerome, their record is now 8-12.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Twin Falls has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Jerome struggles in that department as they've averaged .441. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Twin Falls took their win against Jerome when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
