The West Laurens Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the East Laurens Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
West Laurens' three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 32-25 victory over Westside. The victory was just what West Laurens needed coming off of a 68-43 loss in their prior contest.
West Laurens can attribute much of their success to Tariah Tobler, who scored five points along with six rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Brookyln Jackson, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, East Laurens gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 71-23 victory over Jefferson County. With East Laurens ahead 38-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.
West Laurens' win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for East Laurens, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
West Laurens didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against East Laurens in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 43-37 victory. Will West Laurens repeat their success, or does East Laurens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
