Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Patrick Henry

Patrick Henry entered their tilt with Bryan on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Golden Bears by a score of 5-2. While the Patriots didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Mack Hieber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Patrick Henry let Mason Jardine and Grant Schwab run wild. Jardine went 1-for-2 with three RBI, while Schwab went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Jardine a new career-high.

Patrick Henry's victory bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for Bryan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Patrick Henry will face off against Ayersville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bryan, they will challenge Liberty Center at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
