The Clearfield Falcons will challenge the Viewmont Vikings at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clearfield will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Monday, Clearfield earned a 6-2 victory over Bonneville.
Taven Swartz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. Clearfield is 2-1 when Swartz allows three or fewer earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Logan Fenn was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Colt Chambers was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Viewmont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Northridge on Monday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Kimball Essig, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Marriott, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Viewmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge only posted an OBP of .393.
Viewmont's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Clearfield, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Clearfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Viewmont struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clearfield might still be hurting after the 10-2 loss they got from Viewmont in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
