Lutheran West is a perfect 10-0 against Brooklyn since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brooklyn, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Open Door Christian on Thursday.
Aiden Starr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Starr was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Brooklyn let Dominic Pytel and Jaydan DeLuca run wild. Pytel scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while DeLuca scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Mason Vega was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Lutheran West's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Brooklyn, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
Brooklyn's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lutheran West has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. It's a different story for Brooklyn, though, as they've only averaged .333. Will they be able to contain Lutheran West's hitters?
