There's no place like home for McDowell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past the Meadville Bulldogs 13-3 on Friday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Emma Mickel and Gabriella Deluca were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Mickel pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Meanwhile, Deluca tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 12 consecutive appearances. At bat, Mickel went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Deluca fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Deluca has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avya Mickel, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Nageli, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

McDowell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meadville only posted an OBP of .333.

McDowell pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Meadville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDowell will welcome General McLane at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Trojans are facing the Lancers at the right time seeing as the Lancers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Meadville, they will square off against Erie at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
