The Eau Gallie Commodores will face off against the Harmony Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eau Gallie is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Eau Gallie's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Varsity Opponent 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Commodores, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Eau Gallie let Vincent Breckenridge and Chase McBrearty run wild. Breckenridge went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI, while McBrearty scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave McBrearty a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brock Lustic, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Eau Gallie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Harmony unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of St. Cloud by a score of 8-7.
Harmony also got a good showing from Raul Romay, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Romay has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Angel Medina made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Jadiel Perez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Eau Gallie's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Harmony, their loss dropped their record down to 12-2.
