The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Chapin Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Gray Collegiate Academy beat Denmark-Olar 45-35.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gray Collegiate Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karlee Phelps, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Raina Mayers, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, Chapin really took it to Newberry for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-27 victory at home. The win was just what Chapin needed coming off of a 81-27 loss in their prior match.
Chapin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reagan Haggard, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. Haggard hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Kiley Freeman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 9 steals.
The losses dropped Gray Collegiate Academy to 2-2 and Denmark-Olar to 0-2.
Tuesday's contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Gray Collegiate Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 16 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Chapin struggles in that department as they've been even better at 34.8 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
