The McFarland Cougars waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They snuck past Delano with a 43-37 victory. That's another feather in the cap for McFarland, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Delano lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jotham Amodo, who scored eight points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ibrahim Shuwait, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds.
McFarland pushed their record up to 17-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Delano, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McFarland will take on Wasco at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Delano, they will be playing at home against Taft at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Taft's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.
