They blew past Pine Grove 56-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Notre Dame-Green Pond, who have now won six contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Notre Dame-Green Pond had a senior duo take command as Danny Darno threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes and Josh Ludlow gained 80 total yards and three touchdowns. Kellen Binstead made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Notre Dame-Green Pond's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Salisbury Township and 0-10 Wilson Area (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 33.4% over those games). As for Pine Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame-Green Pond will square off against Wilson Area at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wilson Area is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Pine Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Marian Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
