After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South View, the St. Pauls Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They secured a 55-50 W over Lumberton. That's another feather in the cap for St. Pauls, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
St. Pauls was led to victory by Jashontae Harris and Zhariana Shipman. Harris scored 15 points along with six steals and five assists, while Shipman scored 19 points along with eight steals. Haleigh Yambo was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
St. Pauls' victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Lumberton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Pauls will take on Red Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Red Springs is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Lumberton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Douglas Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
