Barren County is 0-10 against Bowling Green since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Barren County Trojans will be staying on the road to face off against the Bowling Green Purples at 7:30 p.m. on February 12th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Saturday, things could have been worse for Barren County, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-47 loss to Adair County. While losing is never fun, Barren County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Adair County is ranked 28th).
Meanwhile, Bowling Green unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 90-89 to Lyon County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Barren County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Bowling Green, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-5.
Barren County came up short against Bowling Green in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 51-46. Can Barren County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
