The Idabel Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the KIPP Tulsa University Prep Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Idabel is coming into the match hot, having won their last 13 games.
Last Saturday, Idabel faced the Indians in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Idabel took down the Indians 74-55. Idabel pushed the score to 61-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians cut but never quite recovered from.
In what's become a running theme this season, KIPP Tulsa University Prep gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Central 51-24 at home. Given KIPP Tulsa University Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Braves are ranked 325th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Idabel pushed their record up to 15-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for KIPP Tulsa University Prep, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
Idabel strolled past the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 57-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Idabel since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
