Fans got a thrill when Nick Meadows and Jordan Shakes connected against Platt. The connection was good for 94 yards, the longest such play in Central Connecticut III West this season.
Northwest Catholic added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Berlin, 22-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Meadows threw for 314 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 19-29 with 0 interceptions.
Meadows put up the best numbers in passing as Weaver fell to the Panthers. Meadows' favorite target this week was Shakes, who caught 8 passes for 194 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Christian Flynn of Northwest Catholic is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,504. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Shakes. The Weaver star has 22 catches for 432 yards.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Beavers' Shakes goes up against Bloomfield's Terrence Mitchell.
