Softball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Beats South San Francisco for Their Eighth Straight Win

St. Ignatius College Preparatory had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt South San Francisco on Monday. St. Ignatius College Preparatory blew past South San Francisco 10-0. The victory was just business as usual for the Wildcats, who after eight games remain undefeated this season.

South San Francisco's batters probably weren't too happy with Cassidy Chew, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Chew has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Ignatius College Preparatory got a massive performance out of Vicky Carrillo, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Those doubles marked the first that Carrillo hit this season. Another player making a difference was Gianna Galarza, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.
