After flying high against the Jordan Red Jackets on Friday, the Spencer Greenwave came back down to earth. The contest between Spencer and Harris County wasn't particularly close, with Spencer falling 64-48. Spencer lost against Harris County in their previous head to head back in January of 2017, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 73-25 score last time.
Spencer lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nadra Rosser, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Rosser is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Malaja Dyous, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Spencer has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Harris County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spencer will take on Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Harris County, they will be playing at home against McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McIntosh will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Harris County is ranked 77th).
