Bishop Carroll and the Bisons are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Bishop Carroll Huskies will head out on the road to take on the Bedford Bisons at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Bishop Carroll unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 63-51 to Westmont Hilltop. While losing is never fun, Bishop Carroll can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 98th).
Despite the loss, Bishop Carroll had strong showings from Max Oravec, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Jace Casses, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Oravec continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Tremel, who scored five points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Bedford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 48-33 to Bellefonte.
Bedford's loss came about despite a quality game from Quincy Swaim, who scored 13 points along with two blocks.
Bishop Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Bedford, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Wednesday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Luke Repko and Jacob Wilson. Repko has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 20.2 points and 4 steals. For his part, Wilson has averaged 13.6 points, 1.5 steals, and 2.1 assists.
Everything came up roses for Bishop Carroll against the Bisons when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 71-29 victory. With Bishop Carroll ahead 42-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
