The Dobson Mustangs will take on the West Point Dragons at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Dobson comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Dobson is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Apollo on Thursday, falling 16-6.
Owen Murray was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Freddy Leal was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, West Point made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cesar Chavez on Thursday. The Dragons blew past the Champions 11-5. The Dragons not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2025 (when they won 9-2).
West Point let Kenyer Martinez and Aiden Lopez run wild. Martinez went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Lopez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Lopez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Ruiz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
West Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cesar Chavez only posted an OBP of .400.
Dobson's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for West Point, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Everything went Dobson's way against West Point in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Dobson made off with a 12-1 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
