Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Chesaning Indians walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 31-12 win over Central Montcalm on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Chesaning sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
It was another big night for Brayden Florian, who rushed for 233 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Florian is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played.
Central Montcalm's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Joey Morrow, who gained 68 total yards and a touchdown.
Chesaning's victory was their fourth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Central Montcalm, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Chesaning will be playing in front of their home fans against Bullock Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bullock Creek is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Central Montcalm does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
