Fans got a thrill when Jacob Johnson and Bruce Thomas connected against Lafayette. The longest such play in 1A District 6 this season, the connection resulted in 80 yards.
Hawthorne lost to Williston 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Tyler Beauchamp and Brad Cates gave Bronson a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Beauchamp threw for 48 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Cates ran for 173 yards. Teammate Garry Mitchell added to the ground attack by rushing for 51 yards.

Beauchamp put up the best numbers in passing as Bronson defeated Cedar Creek Christian. Beauchamp's favorite target this week was Brock Brower, who caught 2 passes for 35 yards.
Thomas was the best receiver in the league this week as Bell lost to the Hornets. Thomas racked up 2 receptions for 88 yards.
Cates was the most successful running back in the league this week.
Cates provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Cameron Porch's team topped the Saints.
The Hornets' 5-foot-8 quarterback Lavares Turner is the league leader in passing yards this season with 231. The leading receiver in the league this season is Robert Weinberg. The Hilliard star has 4 catches for 115 yards.
One of 1A District 6's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Hawthorne and Hilliard face off next week.
Next week's game between Ellis Walker's team and the Red Flashes will feature an aerial matchup as Turner tests his arm against Aaron Wade's defensive ability.
The Bulldogs are currently in third, while Trenton is in fourth.
The Eagles made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,961 from 12,343. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 45-12 victory over Cedar Creek Christian last week.
