The Citrus Hurricanes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-49 win over Crystal River. The win was just what Citrus needed coming off of a 50-30 loss in their prior match.
Citrus found their leader in underclassman Demi Williamson, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 15 steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Williamson has scored at least a third of Citrus' points. Kendyl Hunnicutt was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Citrus' win ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10. As for Crystal River, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Citrus won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Vanguard at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. Vanguard is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Crystal River, they will head out on the road to face off against Dunnellon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunnellon is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
