Baseball Recap: Limestone Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Limestone, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Alleman Pioneers by a score of 11-7 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Rockets: when they faced off against the Pioneers back in April, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

The team relied heavily on Alec Williams, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Daxenbichler, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Limestone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Limestone has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Alleman, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-8.

Limestone and Alleman should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Rockets (ranked 97th) will meet Metamora (ranked 243rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Alleman will face off against Rock Island at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (126 vs. 253).
