The Foxcroft Academy Ponies will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Bucksport Golden Bucks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Foxcroft Academy will be strutting in after a win while Bucksport will be coming in after a defeat.
Foxcroft Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Mount View on Wednesday. The Ponies blew past the Mustangs 10-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Ponies considering their two-run performance the match before.
Hayden Strout made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Strout was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Thomas Day, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Silas Topolski, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.
Meanwhile, Bucksport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-2 to Orono. Golden Bucks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Riots since on Friday.

Foxcroft Academy pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Bucksport, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
