Basketball Recap: Calumet Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Calumet Christian entered their tilt with HomeSchool Resource Center on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 60-54 W against the HomeSchool Resource Center Patriots. The victory almost wasn't to be: Calumet Christian was down 39-25 in the second quarter.

Calumet Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kolton Foutz, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 14 points along with six steals and five boards. Foutz has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Clayton, who posted 12 points.

Despite the defeat, HomeSchool Resource Center saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noel Green dropped a triple-double with 24 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. That was a full 44.4% of HomeSchool Resource Center's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Deuce Johnson was another key player, putting up 13 points and four steals.

Calumet Christian's record now sits at 8-18. As for HomeSchool Resource Center, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-20.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calumet Christian will venture away from home to take on City Baptist School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. HomeSchool Resource Center will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Families of Faith Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 24th.
