Softball Recap: Five Straight Road Wins for Holly Springs

Holly Springs won the last time they faced Middle Creek and things went their way on Thursday too. The Golden Hawks blew past the Mustangs 8-1. The Golden Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Kendall Wallace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kayla Aldinger was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Zoe Peptis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Holly Springs pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Middle Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Coincidentally, Holly Springs and Middle Creek will both be playing Cary the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Imps at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Golden Hawks will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th.
