Pana will take on North Mac at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It was a proper cat-fight when Pana challenged Warrensburg-Latham on Thursday. The Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cardinals, sneaking past 3-1.

Shelby Ashcraft made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Ashcraft wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Allie Sarver, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Mac). They put the hurt on Riverton with a sharp 12-4 victory on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Like Pana, North Mac also got a great game from a two-way player: Taylor Keirs. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave Keirs a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Addison Cole and Lennox Wiseman did most of the damage at the plate: Cole went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Wiseman got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Wiseman has posted since back in April of 2024. Reese Perrine was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Pana has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Mac, their win bumped their record up to 3-17-1.
Pana couldn't quite finish off North Mac in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Will Pana have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
