Cordia extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-18 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lynn Camp Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

Burley Arrowood was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Riley Melton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Chandler Hall, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
As for Lynn Camp, their victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 11, 2024.
Like Cordia, Lynn Camp also got a great game from a two-way player: Ethan Curry. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Curry also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lynn Camp is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-11 otherwise. Curry was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
Curry wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Darren Campbell, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Campbell has posted since back in March.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cordia will welcome Oneida Baptist Institute at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are facing the Mountaineers at the right time seeing as the Mountaineers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lynn Camp, they will host Hancock County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: the Indians will have lost eight straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
