There's no place like home for the Green Level Gators, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Cary by a score of 54-45 on Friday. Given Green Level's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Cary is ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Green Level was led to victory by Claire Barber and Deana Prasad. Barber went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 3 assists, while Prasad scored 25 points along with seven steals and six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Prasad has scored at least a third of Green Level's points. Another player making a difference was Stella Eckhart, who scored two points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Cary lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kyndall Brewington. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Garner, who scored nine points.
Green Level has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Cary, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Green Level will head out on the road to take on Holly Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Green Level focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Cary, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Middle Creek at 5:30 p.m. One thing working in Middle Creek's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
