Greenbrier Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Benedictine as they made off with an 8-0 victory. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Jackson Okonkwo's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Thomas Conrad was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Tyson Moravec was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Grassfield hit Nansemond River with a five-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors came up short against the Grizzlies, falling 11-1. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Nansemond River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Guerra, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Peyton Hartsfield also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Greenbrier Christian Academy pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Nansemond River, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
