The Cyprus Pirates will head out on the road to  take on  the Orem Tigers  at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Cyprus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9  runs per game  this season.
On Saturday, Cyprus beat Green Canyon 9-6. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Pirates.
 Dj Oveson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  6.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and five unearned) runs off   six  hits. Oveson was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news, Cyprus let  Easton Seeley and  Reiner Hidalgo run wild. Seeley  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-4, while  Hidalgo  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.  Carter Primm also deserves some recognition as  he  brought in his first  RBI of the season.
 Cyprus  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Orem unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Park City by a score of  4-3 on Tuesday.
 Blake Brotherson was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up  four earned runs off   seven  hits (and only one walk).
 At the plate,  Merrick Bostock was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
Cyprus' win was  their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Orem, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
 Cyprus couldn't quite get it done against Orem in their previous matchup  back in March of 2015 as they fell  3-0. Can Cyprus avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
